Nutrition is one of the most important aspects of living a healthy life, and reaching your fitness goals. This still seems like a massive understatement. No matter what you are trying to achieve with your health or with your exercise if you have your nutrition locked down everything will be SO much easier.
A very common phrase that we use in the gym is, you can’t out exercise a bad diet. Basically, this means that if you are trying to lose weight, or gain weight, or get stronger, or be able to run a mile faster you need to focus on what happens outside the gym as much as you work on what happens outside the gym. There is nothing more frustrating than crushing your workouts, but never seeing the results you want. I think a good comparison is: if you were a race car driver and you only ever put low grade fuel in your car, you probably won’t win very many races. If you drive a Ferrari you’re going to want to put the best fuel you can into it to unlock its full potential. Likewise, if you are trying to lose weight you are going to want to stick the best fuel possible into your body, to try and reach its full potential.
Odds are this all sounds like common knowledge so far. Most of us all know that it’s important to eat healthy, but it’s the execution that actually trips us up.
