It’s been almost 1 year since I joined NoCO Fitness and started training with Ryan. I remember the day well……It was three days after my 63rd birthday, I weighed more than I ever had and my dearest friend had just invited me on a trip of a lifetime.
I would have rather been anywhere else that day.
Ryan and I agreed that I would come in twice a week and work out with him for 30 minutes a time. He GUARANTEED me that I would be ready for that big vacation in September of this year. The trip was a four day, 26 mile trek, to a height of 13,800 feet to Machu Picchu in Peru.
I have always been a “yoyo” dieter, but a broken fibula with a surgery and 2 rotator cuff surgeries (both failed)in two years had slowed me down to the point of inertia. My weight was at an all-time high of 163 pounds. Couldn’t get out of my own way. I didn’t like the way I looked or the way I felt. I have beautiful grandchildren and did not want to be one of “those” grandmas who can’t play with them.
I only missed a couple of those workouts with Ryan and thanks to my niece, my friend, and my husband I hiked twice a week all summer. Also did some work at home and used my FitBit to my advantage.
I left for Peru on September 30th, hiked everyday, including 3 hikes in the Amazon rain forest. I feel great, my weight is down to 130 pounds and I am happier with my life!
I am still seeing Ryan for my twice a week motivational sessions. He’s a great kid and now someone I consider a friend. I also had help from the other trainers at NoCO, Chris, Tanner, and James. I know, in my heart of hearts, that I couldn’t have done that trip without them.
So November 16th will be my “Trainerversary” with NoCO Fitness. I can’t recommend their help highly enough! Kind, caring people with a desire to help are few and far between. These guys are great!
